Late/Absence Procedures
Good attendance and punctuality at Lake Farm Park Academy (LFPA) is vital for a pupil’s education and establishes a positive working ethos early in life. For our children to gain the greatest benefit from their education, it is vital that they attend every day, unless the reason for absence is unavoidable. It is also very important that they arrive on time every day.
Poor attendance can have a significant impact on a child’s:
- Attainment and progress;
- Relationships with other children and their ability to form lasting friendships;
-
Confidence to attempt new work and work alongside others.
For more details please see our Attendance Policy or click on the link
LFPA’s attendance policy is written with reference to the DfE’s ‘School Attendance’ guidance (October 2014).
PUNCTUALITY
Good punctuality means making sure your child is at school and ready to learn before the bell rings! This means arriving early. Try to get to school 10 minutes early and get your child settled and ready to learn.
LOST MINUTES = LOST LEARNING
5 minutes = 3 days lost
10 minutes = 6.5 days lost
15 minutes = 10 days lost
20 minutes = 13 days lost
30 minutes = 19 days lost
EVERY SCHOOL DAY COUNTS BUT EVERY MINUTE IS EQUALLY IMPORTANT
We will also refer you to the Participation Team if your child is regularly late.
